Multiple Closures:
•Traffic shift along Shaw Avenue between Cornelia and Blythe avenues;
•Road closure along Golden State Boulevard between Cornelia and Santa Ana avenues;
•Road closure along Weber Avenue between Jennifer and Gates avenues;
•Road closure along Gates Avenue between Jennifer and Weber avenues.

Traffic shift and road closures will go into effect starting Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025 and will continue through July 2026.

SOUTHBOUND GOLDEN STATE BOULEVARD TO SOUTHBOUND GOLDEN STATE BOULEVARD DETOUR:

  • Southbound traffic along Golden State Boulevard will be detoured south on Cornelia Avenue, east on Santa Ana Avenue to southbound Golden State Boulevard.
SOUTHBOUND GOLDEN STATE BOULEVARD TO SHAW AVENUE DETOUR:
  • Southbound traffic along Golden State Boulevard will be detoured south on Cornelia Avenue to Shaw Avenue.
EASTBOUND SHAW AVENUE DETOUR TO NORTHBOUND GOLDEN STATE BOUVARD DETOUR:

  • Eastbound traffic along Shaw Avenue will be detoured north on Cornelia Avenue to northbound Golden State Boulevard.

EASTBOUND SHAW AVENUE DETOUR TO SOUTHBOUND GOLDEN STATE BOULEVARD DETOUR:

  • Eastbound traffic along Shaw Avenue will be detoured south on Cornelia Avenue, east on Santa Ana Avenue to southbound Golden State Boulevard.

WESTBOUND SHAW AVENUE DETOUR TO SOUTHBOUND GOLDEN STATE BOULEVARD DETOUR:

  • Westbound traffic along Shaw Avenue will continue along the Shaw Avenue bypass, south on Cornelia Avenue, east on Santa Ana Avenue to southbound Golden State Boulevard.

WESTBOUND SHAW AVENUE DETOUR TO NORTHBOUND GOLDEN STATE BOULEVARD DETOUR:

  • Westbound traffic along Shaw Avenue will continue along the Shaw Avenue bypass, north on Cornelia Avenue to northbound Golden State Boulevard.

NORTHBOUND GOLDEN STATE BOULEVARD DETOUR TO SHAW AVENUE DETOUR:

  • Traffic along northbound Golden State Boulevard will be detoured west on Santa Ana Avenue, north on Cornelia Avenue to Shaw Avenue.

NORTHBOUND GOLDEN STATE BOULEVARD TO NORTHBOUND GOLDEN STATE BOULEVARD DETOUR:

  • Traffic along northbound Golden State Boulevard will be detoured west on Santa Ana Avenue, north on Cornelia Avenue to northbound Golden State Boulevard.

Signage will be in place to direct traffic.

Access to all businesses and residents will be maintained.

Description

Fresno, Calif. – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), in cooperation with design-build contractor Tutor-Perini / Zachry / Parsons (TPZP), announces a traffic shift and multiple road closures along Shaw, Weber and Gates avenues and Golden State Boulevard in Fresno to begin work on the Shaw Avenue grade separation project. Traffic shift and road closures will go into effect starting Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025 and will continue through July 2026.

This work is part of Construction Package 1 (CP 1), the first 32-mile stretch of high-speed rail between Avenue 19 in Madera County and East American Avenue in Fresno County.

All construction activities and schedules are subject to change. The California High-Speed Rail project is considered a critical infrastructure sector, and as the project continues, staff, contractors and construction workers are following specific guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Traffic laws will be fully enforced and commuters are expected to be aware of the surrounding activities, remain alert and watch for construction vehicles and personnel.
