MULTIPLE CLOSURES:

  • Road closure along Shaw Avenue, between Forestiere and Blythe avenues;
  • Road closure along Golden State Boulevard, between Cornelia and Santa Ana avenues.

Work is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 11 through Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025.

Detour

EASTBOUND SHAW AVENUE TRAFFIC DETOUR:

  • Traffic going along eastbound Shaw Avenue will be detoured south on Hayes Avenue, east on Ashlan Avenue, south on Marty Avenue, north on Weber Avenue, north on Brawley Avenue, then east on Shaw Avenue.

WESTBOUND SHAW AVENUE TRAFFIC DETOUR:

  • Traffic going along westbound Shaw Avenue will be detoured south on Brawley Avenue, south on Weber Avenue, north on Marty Avenue, west on Ashlan Avenue, north on Polk Avenue, then west on Shaw Avenue.
  • Traffic going along westbound Shaw Avenue can also be detoured north on Brawley Avenue, west on Bullard Avenue, south on Veterans Boulevard, then west on Shaw Avenue.

NORTHBOUND GOLDEN STATE BOULEVARD TRAFFIC DETOUR:

  •  Traffic going along northbound Golden State Boulevard will be detoured west on Ashlan Avenue, north on Grantland Avenue, east on Shaw Avenue, north on Veterans Boulevard, then north on Golden State Boulevard.

SOUTHBOUND GOLDEN STATE BOULEVARD TRAFFIC DETOUR

  • Traffic going along southbound Golden State Boulevard will be detoured south on Veterans Boulevard, west on Shaw Avenue, south on Grantland Avenue, east on Ashland Avenue, then south on Golden State Boulevard.

Signage will be in place to direct traffic. Access to all businesses and residents will be maintained.

Description

Fresno, Calif. – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), in cooperation with design-build contractor Tutor-Perini / Zachry / Parsons (TPZP), announces multiple road closures along Shaw Avenue and Golden State Boulevard in Fresno for construction of a high-speed rail grade separation. Work is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 11 through Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025.

This work is part of Construction Package 1 (CP 1), the first 32-mile stretch of high-speed rail between Avenue 19 in Madera County and East American Avenue in Fresno County.

All construction activities and schedules are subject to change. The California High-Speed Rail project is considered a critical infrastructure sector, and as the project continues, staff, contractors and construction workers are following specific guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Traffic laws will be fully enforced and commuters are expected to be aware of the surrounding activities, remain alert and watch for construction vehicles and personnel. The public is asked to drive carefully and be extra cautious while traveling though the construction areas.
