Road closure along Floral Avenue, between Cedar and Chestnut avenues in Fresno County for construction of a high-speed rail overcrossing.

Work is scheduled to begin Tuesday, June 20, 2023 and will continue through February 2025.

Detour

EASTBOUND FLORAL AVENUE DETOUR:

  • Traffic going eastbound on Floral Avenue will be detoured south on Cedar Avenue, east on Nebraska Avenue, north on Chestnut Avenue, then east on Floral Avenue.

WESTBOUND FLORAL AVENUE TRAFFIC:

  • Traffic going westbound on Floral Avenue will be detoured south on Chestnut Avenue, west on Nebraska Avenue, north on Cedar Avenue, then west on Floral Avenue.

Signage will be in place to direct traffic. Access will be maintained for all property and business owners.

Description

Fresno County, Calif. – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), in cooperation with design-build contractor Dragados-Flatiron Joint Venture (DFJV), announces a full road closure along Floral Avenue, between Cedar and Chestnut avenues in Fresno County for construction of a high-speed rail overcrossing. Work is scheduled to begin Tuesday, June 20, 2023 and will continue through February 2025.

This work is part of Construction Package 2-3 (CP 2-3), the 65-mile stretch of high-speed rail between East American Avenue in Fresno County and one-mile north of the Tulare-Kern County line.

All construction activities and schedules are subject to change. The California High-Speed Rail project is considered a critical infrastructure sector, and as the project continues, staff, contractors and construction workers are following specific guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Traffic laws will be fully enforced and commuters are expected to be aware of the surrounding activities, remain alert and watch for construction vehicles and personnel.
