MULTIPLE CLOSURES:

  • Intermittent lane closures along Herndon Avenue, between Parkway Drive and Riverside Drive;
  • Lane closure along Riverside Drive, south of Herndon Avenue;
  • Lane closure along Golden State Boulevard, between Kathryn and Herndon avenues;
  • Lane closure northbound SR 99 to Herndon Avenue off-ramp.

Work is scheduled from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. starting Tuesday, March 26 through Friday, May 31, 2024.

Detour

KATHRYN AVENUE TO NORTHBOUND GOLDEN STATE BOULEVARD DETOUR:  

Traffic heading northbound on Golden State Boulevard from Kathryn Avenue will be detoured south on Golden State Boulevard, east on Herndon Avenue, then make a U-turn at Riverside Drive to west Herndon Avenue, then north on Golden State Boulevard.

WESTBOUND HERNDON AVENUE TRUCK DETOUR:  

Truck traffic heading west on Herndon Avenue from SR 99 will be detoured east on Herndon Avenue, south on Golden State Boulevard, west on Shaw Ave, north on Grantland Avenue to Herndon Avenue.

Signage will be in place to direct traffic. Access will be maintained to all businesses and property owners.

Description

Fresno, Calif. – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), in cooperation with design-build contractor Tutor-Perini / Zachry / Parsons (TPZP), announces multiple closures along Herndon Avenue, Golden State Boulevard, and State Route (SR) 99 in Fresno for utility work. Work is scheduled from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. starting Tuesday, March 26 through Friday, May 31, 2024.

This work is part of Construction Package 1 (CP 1), the first 32-mile stretch of high-speed rail between Avenue 19 in Madera County and East American Avenue in Fresno County.

All construction activities and schedules are subject to change. The California High-Speed Rail project is considered a critical infrastructure sector, and as the project continues, staff, contractors and construction workers are following specific guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Traffic laws will be fully enforced and commuters are expected to be aware of the surrounding activities, remain alert and watch for construction vehicles and personnel. The public is asked to drive carefully and be extra cautious while traveling though the construction areas.
