Closure

Intermittent traffic impacts along Iona Avenue, between State Route (SR) 43 and Sixth Avenue; and Seventh Avenue, between Houston and Idaho avenues, in Kings County to transport materials to a high-speed rail construction site.

Work is scheduled to begin Monday, March 25 and will continue through Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Detour

Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic. Drivers may experience delays.

Access will be maintained to all property owners.

Description

Kings County, Calif. – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), in cooperation with design-build contractor Dragados-Flatiron Joint Venture (DFJV), announces intermittent traffic impacts along Iona and Seventh avenues in Kings County to transport materials to a high-speed rail construction site. Work is scheduled to begin Monday, March 25 through Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

This work is part of Construction Package 2-3 (CP 2-3), the 65-mile stretch of high-speed rail between East American Avenue in Fresno County and one-mile north of the Tulare-Kern County line.

All construction activities and schedules are subject to change. The California High-Speed Rail project is considered a critical infrastructure sector, and as the project continues, staff, contractors and construction workers are following specific guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Traffic laws will be fully enforced and commuters are expected to be aware of the surrounding activities, remain alert and watch for construction vehicles and personnel.
