Detour

SOUTHBOUND GOLDEN STATE BOULEVARD FROM LA QUINTA INN TRAFFIC DETOUR:

  • Traffic going southbound on Golden State Boulevard from La Quinta Inn will be detoured northwest along Golden State Boulevard, southwest on Veterans Boulevard, east on Shaw Avenue, and south on Golden State Boulevard.
  • Alternatively, traffic going southbound on Golden State traffic can also go northwest along Golden State Boulevard, east on Bullard Avenue, south on Figarden Drive to Brawley Avenue, west on Shaw Avenue, and south on Golden State Boulevard.

NORTHBOUND GOLDEN STATE BOULEVARD TRAFFIC DETOUR:

  • Traffic going along northbound Golden State Boulevard will be detoured east on Shaw Avenue, north on Brawley Avenue to Figarden Drive, west on Bullard Avenue, southwest on Veterans Boulevard, east on Shaw Avenue, and north on Golden State Boulevard.
  • Alternatively, northbound Golden State traffic can also go west on Shaw Avenue, northeast on Veterans Boulevard, and northwest on Golden State Boulevard.

Signage will be in place to direct traffic. Access will be maintained to all businesses and residents.

Description

The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), in cooperation with design-build contractor Tutor-Perini / Zachry / Parsons (TPZP), announces a road closure along Golden State Boulevard, between Shaw and Cornelia avenues in Fresno for construction of a high-speed rail grade separation. Work is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 9 through Sunday, Aug. 10, 2025.

This work is part of Construction Package 1 (CP 1), the first 32-mile stretch of high-speed rail between Avenue 19 in Madera County and East American Avenue inFresno County.

All construction activities and schedules are subject to change. The California High-Speed Rail project is considered a critical infrastructure sector, and as the project continues, staff, contractors and construction workers are following specific guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Traffic laws will be fully enforced and commuters are expected to be aware of the surrounding activities, remain alert and watch for construction vehicles and personnel. The public is asked to drive carefully and be extra cautious while traveling though the construction areas.
